Carol Vorderman, 61, shows off curves in skintight frock amid Countdown return rumours

Carol Vorderman was out to steal all of the limelight on Tuesday as she slipped into a slinky dress as she dazzled Instagram fans with her age-defying beauty.

The 61-year-old former Countdown star looked breathtaking as she posed in the mirror selfie image looking glam while wearing the figure hugging frock.

Looking sizzling, the brainiac wowed her loyal legion of followers as she showcased the button down number that fitted her figure like a glove.

Holding her smart phone up, Carol snapped away like a professional capturing hourglass proportions.

The TV star explained to fans that her glam attire was in support of her son Cameron King, with Carol digging out her glad rags for a very special occasion.

She told fans: “Trying this lovely dress on from @clubllondon for my son Cameron’s honours degree graduation this evening from @uwebristol.

“He got a First Class degree two years ago in Animation and his graduation back then was online. So tonight albeit 2 years behind the times, will be wonderful.

“Anyway more of that later #ProudMumma.”

The celebratory post was liked by more than 6,000 followers with Chattyman Alan Carr among friends who struck the love heart button.

Meanwhile, Carol’s name began to circulate after speculation began to mount about a new Countdown host.

Last week it was announced that the current gameshow host Anne Robinson, 77, had stepped down from her post after just one year “in the hot seat’.

The Weakest Link star joined the Channel 4 programme last year, becoming the sixth presenter and the first ever female to take on the hosting role.

With news about Anne’s shocking departure doing the rounds, rumours began to swirl about who might step up and Countdown legend Carol’s name was one of them in the running – according to fans on Twitter.

One tweet read: “Carol, you’d be perfect for the show. Please come back and be the show’s host.”

Another wrote: “Ever thought of going back to host the show Carol ? to sit in Dickie’s chair & present it as the main man once did.”

While a third penned: “You’d be up for hosting it yourself, Vorders? Go on!”
