Dame Joan Collins pelted with food in unprovoked attack at lavish private members' club

Dame Joan Collins was reportedly pelted with food in a “vicious” and unprovoked attack while at an exclusive £650-per-year private members’ club.

The 88-year-old star reportedly had a hard lump of bread thrown at her head by an aggressive and drunk fan while attending a lavish venue in Chelsea, South West London.

Completely unprovoked, the incident happened while she was out dining with a friend at the Chelsea Arts Club.

With her friend celebrating their birthday, a drunk woman approached the Joan and her pals when she started to become aggressive.

“Swaying” around and trying to get Joan’s attention staff at the venue soon asked the woman to return to her table – something that left the woman in an angry state.

Angry that she had been told to sit down, and frustrated that she couldn’t get close to Joan, the woman picked up a nearby bread roll and lobbed it at the Dynasty actress.

MailOnline reported that the drunken female was thrown out of the venue and the male member she was with had his membership suspended.

The Chelsea Arts Club is a private members club that can only be joined via application.

Like many other exclusive venues, many people are unable to join because your application needs to be supported by a recommendation from existing members.

Non-members are allowed to visit but this is only possible if they are invited by a member.

If you reside within 30 miles of Charing Cross and your application is successful, an annual membership will set you back £650.

The club was founded in 1890 and caters to the members who have a “passionate belief in the importance of a creative approach to life”.

Two thirds of the members have to be practising artists, according the the official website, which is defined as those who are painters, sculptors, designers, photographers, architects, as well as writers, dancers or musicians.
