Daniel Craig was 'in tears' watching latest James Bond film after quitting role

Daniel Craig, who has played 007 agent James Bond for over a decade and a half, has admitted that he got emotional whilst watching his final appearance as the spy in No Time To Die.

He first appeared as the world’s most famous agent back in 2006 in Casino Royale which gained him international recognition

The 54-year-old has previously received the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role back in 2007 for his first portrayal and has appeared in four instalments since – Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre and No Time To Die.

The final film is set to be Daniel’s last appearance as the suave womaniser and he has opened up about his thoughts on the matter.

Daniel has been in the role since 2006

At the 75th annual British Academy Film Awards he professed that he was “in tears” whilst watching his performance in No Time To Die, which was released in September 2021, because it was “the last 15 years of his life”.

He also noted the involvement and paid tribute to editors Elliot Graham, who joked that he would be celebrating a win with “drugs”, and Tom Cross.

His co-star Lashana Lynch, who played MI6 agent Nomi in Daniel Craig’s final instalment, also spoke at the BAFTAs about her character and the messages she has received.

No Time To Die will be his last performance as 007

She said: “I’m so glad that Nomi even exists for them to [be able to] ask questions. It’s a really big deal. Even though, with the work being done now, I hoped that my parents’ generation would have been able to experience that.”

“For me in my generation [to be able to] celebrate it, it’s an honour and a privilege.”

The James Bond actress said that she “encourages the dislike” and the “non support”.

She is thankful for the negativity and is “grateful for anyone who sent a bad message” as it “encouraged her to send even better messages” to the fans who actually support her and her role.

When asked if she would return in a future Bond film, Lynch replied that she “didn’t know if it is happening”, but that she “would return” as she had a “really good time” working with the team.
