Danielle Lloyd says beauty pageant days helped her deal with harrowing childhood abuse

Danielle Lloyd opened up about her beauty queen days and said pageants really helped her through a time when she was struggling with abuse.

The star has previously opened up about the horrific domestic abuse she suffered at the hands of an ex-boyfriend when she was a teenager, with her getting “beaten up every day”.

Danielle was the winner of Miss Great Britain in 2006 and told the Daily Star how it was an “amazing part” of her journey.

Danielle chatted exclusively to showbiz reporter Carly Hacon during a Facebook Live tell-all, where she looked back at some of her best moments.

Looking at a pic from her winning the competition, she said: “Look how young I look – time goes by so fast!

“It was an amazing part of my journey, I’d struggled from a young age with abuse, and obviously pageants made me a stronger person and a lot more confident as well. Especially when I won it gives you that boost.”

When asked if she would like her daughter to enter the pageant world when she grows up, Danielle said she definitely wouldn’t be pushing her into that world.

Danielle added: “I won’t be coaching or pushing her into anything like that, with any of my kids I just want them to do whatever they want to do.

“I want them to be happy, my oldest kid wants to play football now. I will do everything in my power to help them along the way. I support them with whatever they want to do.”

Danielle also revealed some of her rather strange Only Fans requests.

The former glamour model, 38, shared the ins and outs of her Only Fans success exclusively to the Daily Star.

She revealed some of the jaw-dropping requests she’s received since being on the content sharing platform.

Talking about her racy venture, she said: “I always get weird requests from my Only Fans. It’s part and parcel really.

“I’ve really enjoyed having my Only Fans, there’s a lot of stigma behind it, but it helped me through lockdown.

“I get to speak to people who usually wouldn’t have access to me.”

She continued: “Apart from the few weirdos who ask will you sell them your underwear and then he wants to send you a picture of yourself… I like speaking to them all though, it’s entertaining!”

“Oh yeah, feet, that is a massive one! I’ve had my pedicure today so I might get them out tonight!”
