David Walliams vows to 'leave' Britain's Got Talent if golden buzzer act misses final

Britain’s Got Talent judge David Walliams has jokingly vowed to quit the ITV show if his golden buzzer act Born To Perform don’t make it to the show’s final round.

The dance troupe earned David’s golden buzzer after they performed for the judges during the show’s auditions round.

Their performance featured a dance number to Junior Senior’s Move Your Feet, which saw them pull acrobatic moves like one handed cartwheels and box splits, which amazed the judges, audience and viewers.

Once they’d finished, hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly made their way over to the judges panel to ask them their thoughts.

David was impressed with their dedication and dance moves and praised them for their efforts.

The comedian gushed over his act: “I’m so pleased for you, I’m so proud that I got to press the golden buzzer for you guys, that was exactly what I’d hoped. It was full of joy, full of love, full of passion. That’s how you want the world to be, isn’t it?”

He continued on to make a shock revelation: “This is a very, very special group and if you are not in the finals on Sunday, then I’m leaving the show!”

The audience screamed and the hosts looked shocked as everyone cheered for Born To Perform.

Fans took to Twitter and seemed equally as enthused over the contestants as David was.

One supportive viewer tweeted: “To those criticising Born To Perform, you need to understand just how much effort it takes for a person with a learning disability to get that choreography down. They were amazing! Talent at its best.”

Another fan seemed heartwarmingly inspired by their act: “I absolutely loved the Born to Perform dance group. They show us that disabled people can do everything that everyone else can. I’m extremely passionate about promoting Disability Awareness, as I’m totally blind myself. I won’t let my disability define me.”

Everyone in attendance cheered for the act

Later on in the show, Amanda Holden was sufficiently scared by The Witches, a horror magic act that have made it to the semi-final.

One of the members, dressed in gruesome makeup and a dark robe, approached the panel and asked them all to take a piece of paper from their bag.

Written on the paper were different creatures, including earwigs and tape worms, but Amanda landed with rodents.

She put her hand in the box and screamed before running across the venue, obviously terrified of the animal.
