EastEnders icon Shaun Williamson to tour the country as karaoke performer

EastEnders legend Shaun Williamson is to tour the country as a karaoke star.

He is available for private parties with his Barrioke singing act, named after his character Barry Evans in the BBC soap.

The £20-a-ticket bash is billed as “the ultimate karaoke party”.

The actor, 56, is on tour from next month.

His website asks if there are “any global stars you would rather sing with on stage than the coolest man of TV – Shaun Williamson?”

It adds: “Shaun has taken the music festival scene by storm, bringing Barrioke to thousands of music lovers.”

One fan said of his planned gig at The Junction in Plymouth in May: “I’ve been waiting 10 years for this!”

Another joked: “Wedding cancelled, get us to the junction.”

A third wrote: “Biggest thing to happen in Plymouth since the Beatles on the Hoe in 1967.”

The Barrioke nights will also feature DJ sets to make the party is pumping non-stop, even when the man himself is taking a break.

EastEnders remains Shaun’s biggest career milestone to date, despite his character being killed off in 2004.

Since then he’s become a cult icon, with many referring to him as Barry instead of his real name Shaun.

He’s been involved in plenty of television shows since EastEnders though, with a number of them having a musical element.

He won an episode of Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes in 2004, impersonating Meat Loaf.

And he finished in third place in the 2007 series of Comic Relief does Fame Academy.
