EastEnders viewers 'bawling' as they beg Amy not to self harm after brutal dumping

EastEnders viewers were reduced to tears as they watched emotional scenes that saw teenager Amy falling apart after being dumped by boyfriend Denzel.

The troubled 13-year-old found herself subjected to a stream of bullying messages after rumours spread that she and Denzel had sex earlier in the week.

Things then went from bad to worse as she received a text message from her boyfriend calling off their relationship as he took the advice of Nugget and ended things.

Amy was then seen overcome with emotion as she there her phone cutting her hand leading to viewers speculating that she was about to self-harm.

Devastated viewers then took to Twitter to share sympathy with the heartbroken youngster – and beg her not to hurt herself.

One wrote: “Mental health storyline with Amy, I’m balling my eyes out 🙁 #EastEnders.”

Another posted: “Awww no poor Amy is self-harming. It’s so hard being a teenager and kids can be cruel but the problem is never that deep or nothing your friends or family can’t help with. I wish I had that support when I was young. #EastEnders.

A third said: “Poor Amy I thank my lucky stars I was a teenager in the 70s no social media, no mobile phones & no internet I feel sorry for all teenagers in today’s world #EastEnders.”

A fourth social media user pleaded: “No Amy. Please don’t. Turn the phone off. Forget him. It’s not worth it.”

A fifth tweeted: “This Amy storyline is going to be so heartbreaking to watch.”

Another viewer praised the show: “This is why I love EE: completely un-spoilered teen self-harm story – BAM – straight outta nowhere. Poor Amy.”

Another show fan agreed: “Amy’s story is so heartbreaking, sadly so many people are going through this in reality and it needs to be addressed to end stigma.

One agreed: “This plot with Amy in #EastEnders is honestly difficult to watch tbh 🙁 poor kid :/.”
