Emma Thompson snaps at reporter over Harry and Meghan in resurfaced interview clip

British actress Emma Thompson was snapped at a reporter when asked about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in a resurfaced clip.

The Nanny McPhee star appeared rather agitated when a journalist quizzed her on her thoughts regarding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s upcoming wedding ceremony in 2018.

Speaking frankly, Emma, 63, said at the time: “Not a single thought about it in my head about it to share with you, I’m so sorry.”

The star appeared not to appreciate the line of questioning and quickly began to speak about her son’s own upcoming nuptials.

She said: “I haven’t even, it doesn’t occur to me actually.

“My son is getting married next year so I am much more sort of dealing with that but really I have nothing to say about it.”

Despite trying to ignore the question and change the focus slightly, the journalist was still eager to hear Emma’s perspective on the royal couple.

The reporter then asked Emma if she “wished them well”, to which the actress replied: “Obviously, yes, but I don’t know them, of course I do.”

Emma then hit back telling the journalist to “give the poor kids a break” while refusing to discuss the matter any further.

She said: “Stop doing the ‘oh let’s talk about the royal wedding’… ok…really bad, really bad, not going to talk about the royal wedding.

“Just give the poor kids a break!”

Despite not knowing Harry and Meghan personally, she has met other members of the Royal Family.

The mother of two met Prince William in 2018 when she was made a Dame Commander of the British Empire.

The actress didn’t want to discuss the Royal couple

Prince William granted the prestigious honour at Buckingham Palace in London.

Speaking to reporters about her Royal meeting after the event, Emma went on to express how much she liked the Duke of Cambridge.

She also shared how she was reminded of Royal protocols when she was honoured.

She said: “I love Prince William. I’ve known him since he was little, and we just sniggered at each other.

“I said, ‘I can’t kiss you, can I?’ And he said, ‘No, don’t!'”
