Emmerdale and Coronation Street fans were left irritated with ITV after their favourite soaps had yet another schedule changed, just months after they were allocated new timeslots.
There are set to be fewer episodes in the coming week but Emmerdale is due to return to its previous slot of 7pm for this week, much to some fan’s delight.
Coronation Street have recently decided to bump their episodes up to an hour, but they will return to 30 minute episodes throughout the week and air at 7:30pm.
The overhaul, which is being put in place due to the Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals, will result in a huge clash between the ITV soaps and BBC’s EastEnders.
Emmerdale and Corrie will clash with ‘Enders on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday due to the change.
The official Emmerdale Twitter account tweeted: “Don’t forget, we are on at 7pm all this week! A sneak peek at tonight’s drama,” and included a teaser trailer of the upcoming episode.
However, fans took the opportunity to speak their minds and replied to the tweet with their thoughts on the new scheduling.
One wrote: “The verdict is in. People like the 7pm tim slot for Emmerdale, We’ve tried one hour and half of news and it doesn’t work.”
Another commented: “The way it should be. 30 minutes of Emmerdale and 30 minutes of Coronation Street.”
A confused viewer tweeted to ask the account whether the channel had “changed the time again,” to which another fan told them that it is “Britain’s Got Talent semifinals week”.
Emmerdale features some dramatic events in the week’s upcoming episodes and many of the most scandalous recent storylines will come to fruition.
Faith Dingle has been privately battling cancer but will be caught in the act when her daughter Chas manages to put two and two together after jumping to conclusions.
Chas is at the helm of the Dales drama this week after she accuses Moira of sleeping with Cain’s son Nate, whereas Noah comes to an earth shattering realisation.
He was recently arrested after his own mum Charity reported him for stalking his ex-girlfriend Chloe Harris and is soon to be met with his own demise as he knows he must plead guilty.
Emmerdale continues Tuesday at 7pm
