GMB host Richard Madeley admits The Chase's Anne Hegerty isn't his 'favourite person'

Good Morning Britain host Richard Madeley lifted the lid on his views regarding The Chase star Anne Hegerty on Wednesday’s episode (April 6).

Radio One star Vick Hope appeared on the programme to update on the entertainment segment which included the interesting DNA Journey of the quizzer who realised she was linked to royalty.

Updating on Anne’s adventures alongside her co-star Sean Wallace better known as The Dark Destroyer on Bradley Walsh’s show, Vick updated ITV viewers about Anne’s unbelievable heritage.

This was soon met with comments from Richard, who chimed in to say he was no longer a fan of the TV star.

As soon as Vick had finished, he said: “She’s not my favourite person at the moment.”

Looking baffled, she responded: “Oh really?”

Richard was referencing a recent stint on the quiz show where he almost won a huge amount of money for charity but was beat by Anne.

The host commented: “No. I was on The Chase on Saturday, and we nearly got a lot of money for charity, and she caught me just in the last two minutes.

“We nearly got it, but she caught me.”

Previously on the show, the entertainment reporter and Radio 1 star suggested fans should start referring to the quiz expert as “Queen Anne”.

Anne discovered on her DNA Journey that she had links to the Royal Family

Vick said: “We all know Anne Hegerty as The Governess from quiz show The Chase but governess might be too lowly a title for the quizzing star. Much, much too lowly.

“It might be a good idea to call her Queen Anne.”

As well as establishing her royal links, the former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! contestant opened up about her autism diagnosis and childhood.

She said: “I was quite a troubled child because, in those days, people didn’t know how to spot autism.

“So nobody could quite work out what it was that was so high maintenance about me.”

It comes after her fellow chaser Shaun Wallace showed off his buff transformation on This Morning, with fans immediately comparing him to a fitness instructor.

He looked worlds away from the ITV quiz show as he donned a plain grey t-shirt on the morning programme.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
