GMB in major host shake-up as I'm A Celeb's Scarlette Douglas replaces Richard Arnold

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Scarlette Douglas has enjoyed mass success since leaving the jungle and has now added Good Morning Britain to her list as she made her presenting debut on Wednesday (December 28).

The A Place in the Sun presenter, 35, is standing in for entertainment correspondent Richard Arnold over the Christmas period and discussed the top showbiz news and gossip for the day.

Joining presenters Rob Rinder and Charlotte Hawkins, the former campmate admitted how great her jungle experience was, adding “it’s been a whirlwind” since leaving the show.

And hot on the topic of showbiz news was the reveal that Strictly Come Dancing bosses are planning to sign a celebrity couple to compete against each other for the first time in the show’s history.

While The Voice presenter Emma Willis and her Busted star husband Matt are said to be in the running, Scarlette put forward a few other couples who could take to the dancefloor in 2023.

The first suggestion was former politician and Scarlette’s fellow I’m A Celeb campmate Matt Hancock who could sign up with partner Gina Coladangelo.

“Matt is no stranger to showing off his dance moves as I personally saw in the jungle – I wish I could unsee those!,” Scarlette joked.

“So I’m sure he would not disappoint on the dance floor,” the star giggled.

Charlotte, 47, chimed in: “Yeah inflict that on the rest of the nation, why not?”

The following couple was Rebekah Vardy and her professional footballer husband Jamie.

Scarlette recognised they could be a great option following the high profile Wagatha Christie case which took place earlier this year involving Rebekah, 40 and Coleen Rooney.

She followed this up with the most “controversial” suggestion of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle which could be their “next telly adventure” after the release of their Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan.

Scarlette’s appearance on GMB isn’t the only shakeup the show will see this week as ITV bosses confirmed broadcaster Gordon Smart will be making his presenting debut on Thursday (December 29).

Speaking about landing the role, Gordon said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the amazing stable of talent, in front and behind the camera, on Good Morning Britain.

“So many of the issues facing the country right now are close to home and I’m relishing the chance to join the debate.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am
