TV personality Ed Balls took on the reins of hosting ITV’s Good Morning Britain alongside Susanna Reid and viewers seemed to prefer the presenter shake-up.
The former Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer quickly became the talk of the town during Monday morning’s show (July 4) as fans questioned where regular host Richard Madeley was online.
However despite the evident shake-up some fans seemed to prefer Ed in the hot seat and took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One social media user who was clearly happy with the change tweeted: “Keep Ed Balls on @GMB much better than bloody Richard Madeley.”
Another penned: “Get Ed on as a permanent replacement on GMB. Ed and Alistair C are the best two! No more Richard please.”
A third agreed: “Great to see Ed Balls and not Richard Madeley.”
While a fourth added: “Yes I agree, please can you sack the mess that is Richard Madeley and hire Ed Ball’s permanently.”
Despite the praise, some viewers were not sure about Ed on the show and thought he came across rather “awkward”.
Offering an opposing view, one person wrote: “Ed Balls on Good Morning Britain has the awkwardness of a junior accountant being forced into a presentation activity on a corporate away day.”
Another shared: “I’m not a fan of Ed Balls presenting GMB it’s always too awkward and painful for me to watch.”
Recently rumours have begun to circulate regarding an alleged feud between Susanna and Richard.
Looking into the pair’s behaviour on screen, a body language expert told The Sun that there is evident signs of “disdain”.
Expert Darren Stanton said: “You’ll notice that Susanna often rolls her eyes or flashes a certain micro-expression of smugness, a one-sided smile, during her exchanges with Richard – suggesting deep down she has feelings of disdain and is often in disagreement with him.
“Richard, meanwhile, is known for saying exactly what he thinks. It’s hard to say if the pair are feuding, however, there are visible signs of tensions during their exchanges where it’s clear they can rub each other up the wrong way.”
