I'm A Celeb's Scarlette Douglas' secret real name exposed as star heads into jungle

I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! star Scarlette Douglas has actually changed her name from the one she was given at birth.

The A Place In The Sun presenter was actually born with a different name before she embarked on her showbiz career.

She decided to change her name from Charlotte to Scarlette when she became a television presenter.

One explanation for the change could be that the two names sound very similar, while another could be that she wanted a more unique sounding name to make her stand out as Scarlette isn’t usually spelled without the extra “te” at the end.

Douglas’ parents gave the presenter her birth name and she appears to have a close relationship with them.

Scarlette is part of the 2022 cast

As she often travelled for work for the Channel 4 property programme, Douglas was away from home most of the time.

She told the Mail that she doesn’t have her own pad back in Blighty, but instead she stays with her parents in Enfield when she needs to return home.

The I’m A Celeb contestant is starring in the 2022 series of the show alongside Love Island’s Olivia Attwood, sports star Phil Tufnel and Diversity member Jordan Banjo.

Scarlette is used to jetting off all over the world

Ahead of her trip into the Australian jungle, Scarlette admitted that “spiders are her worst fear”.

Douglas explained: “I think I can deal with the rest of it, if I’m honest, but it is just the way spiders move. That is what is going to freak me out…and cockroaches!”

The TV presenter even added that her “palms go sweaty” when she thinks about holding the insects as she “doesn’t like spiders at all”.

She admitted: “The tiny ones I can deal with but if they are any bigger than a 5p piece, I am out of there!”

Although she has a fear of the creepy crawlies, she is determined not to shout the famous line that gives celebs a way out of the trial.

She claimed that she “really doesn’t want to” and would prefer to “be able to face her fear and go for it”.

Scarlette said: “I am quite headstrong enough to know that nothing can kill me and it can only make me stronger, so hopefully I won’t say [the phrase].”
