Singer Bruce Dickinson, 64, lashed out saying the stench of weed was making bassist Steve Harris, 66, feel ill.
At a show at the Honda Centre in Anaheim, California, Bruce ranted: “There’s so many f****** people smoking so much f****** dope down here I’m amazed you can even see.
“Poor old Steve. I don’t know if you know but he absolutely f****** hates marijuana and the smell of it. Alright? So when he’s trying to play bass it f**** him up.
“So it f**** me up. I’m a singer, alright? So duh’.
“I would just ask for a tiny bit of respect.
“If you want to go get completely stoned out of your f*****g mind go out the back and do it. Alright?”
He then singled out one member of the crowd who seemed to be struggling to get the message, adding: “Otherwise you’re going to end up like this f****** knucklehead here going `duuuuuuhhhh’.”
It is not the first time the band – formed in East London in 1975 and boasting 130 million worldwide album sales – has clashed with members of the audience recently.

In July he yelled at another fan at the Olympic Stadium in Athens, Georgia, US, calling him a “c*** with a f**** flare”. The band have described themselves as “very boring” when asked about drugs.
In 2017 Bruce quipped: “The only drugs you will find backstage at an Iron Maiden gig are ibuprofen and aspirin.’”
The band has been touring for 46 years performing 2,500 shows since their live debut at St Nick’s Hall in Poplar, east London, on May 1 1976.
