Jade Goody’s son Bobby Brazier has revealed he doesn’t miss his Big Brother star mother, giving a heartbreaking explanation behind the surprising admission.
The reality television icon died at the age of 27 in March 2009 after a battle with cervical cancer when Bobby had been five, and his younger brother Freddie was four.
But Bobby, who is now 18, has said he doesn’t miss his mother as he doesn’t really know life with her still there.
Speaking to The Face, model Bobby said: “I don’t feel like I’ve missed out on a mum. It’s normal life to me. I’ve kind of spent more life without her than I did with her.”
And he admitted he doesn’t miss Jade, explaining: “I don’t feel like I was with her long enough to miss her.
“I miss what could’ve been. I hear all the time she was such a presence, that she was one of a kind. What hurts most is that it wasn’t just losing anyone, it was losing Jade.”
While he might not miss Jade, as such, Bobby previously revealed he gets emotional when watching videos of his late mother.
And he does have memories of his time with her, recalling a holiday in Tobago when a “big fire” broke out and Jade rushed to fill buckets of water to put it out.
Bobby lives with his television personality dad Jeff Brazier, who split from Jade in 2004, step-mother Kate Dwyer and brother Freddie.
And he’s busy carving out his own successful modelling career without the help of his famous dad.
Speaking previously of his sons, Jeff told The Sun: “When I look at Bobby and Freddie I see their mother’s colourful personality shining through.
“I mean, Jade was one of the biggest characters out there and the boys have both inherited that from her.”
Jade and Jeff had Bobby in June 2003, just one year after she entered the famous Channel 4 house when she had been 21.
The couple then welcomed Freddie in 2004, however they split not long after.
When Jade died, she had been in a relationship with Jack Tweed, who had gone on Celebrity Big Brother with her before her death.
