Kate Middleton's uncle blasts Harry and Meghan's 'scripted and inauthentic' Netflix series

Kate Middleton”s uncle has blasted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s “scripted and inauthentic” Netflix series about their relationship with the Royal Family.

Multi-millionaire businessman Gary Goldsmith, 57, said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex “promised bombs, but it wasn’t exactly the Blitz was it?”

The younger brother of Kate’s mother Carole Middleton, and uncle to the Princess of Wales, slammed the six-part series, Harry & Meghan, and the criticism levelled at the Royal Family from the couple’s mansion in California.

He said the Netflix series, which recounted the couple’s “fairy-tale” love story and their escape from the confines of royal life to self-imposed exile in the US, disrespected the late Queen.

One claim in the docuseries was Harry’s recollection of his brother William shouting and screaming at a meeting to discuss him wanting to take a step back from Royal life.

Gary told the Daily Mail: “I think Catherine and William will be feeling deeply wounded. They love Harry, they miss him. He is family and, despite this attack, I believe they’d still welcome him and Meghan back.

“To me, the series felt not only scripted and inauthentic, but unfair, self-interested, unreasonable and untrue – especially when done in the knowledge that William and Catherine could never answer back.

“To be honest, I found it to be a self-pitying whinge-fest,” adding: “I feel magnificently disappointed with them and their complete lack of respect for the Queen, who was old and unwell when they were filming this.

“Would this have happened if they weren’t being paid a prince’s ransom for it? I don’t think so.”

Gary stated that Kate understood and respected her royal role, and for her and William “family comes first, then the Monarch, and they put themselves last – whereas, I think, Harry and Meghan place a high priority on themselves.”
