Kim Kardashian says she 'would have done anything to be famous' in early career

Kim Kardashian spoke candidly about her career on Wednesday (April 6) in an interview with Robin Roberts on an ABC News Primetime special, recalling that she wanted to be famous after watching The Real World when she was 10 years old.

She also described that she was always looking for fame, but this is not her priority anymore.

The reality star is a mum of four. She shares them with her with ex-husband Kanye West and she is currently dating comedian Pete Davidson.

Kim reflected: “If you were to ask me years ago, when I first started my career, I would have done anything to be famous, I’m so open and honest about the fact that I love being famous.”

She also said: “Some people are made for it better than others, I would be lying if I said I didn’t feel like I could handle it and if I didn’t feel like I was made for it.”

Kim spoke about her love for the ground-breaking reality show The Real World, which debuted in the early 90s.

She revealed she was “obsessed” with the show and that she thought it was “super authentic” and that you got to see a “real life”.

She also shared that she wanted to audition for the show when she turned 18.

Kim continued: “And I was just fascinated by the way they would just share their lives and show so much, I had never seen that before.”

While discussing the balance between her celebrity status and privacy, the Skims founder acknowledged that it is “hard” to have a reality show and “then say I want certain things to be private”.

However, she insisted that a lack of privacy is part of the job, but that being famous is not so much a priority.

Kim told Roberts that she doesn’t look at fame as a “negative thing” as she “loves” her life.

She went on to say: “Now it’s definitely not my goal, but I don’t mind it. I’m not one to say, like: ‘Oh my god, it’s so hard.’”

Kardashian said: “I knew what I was getting myself into.”

Kim and her family’s new reality show – The Kardashians – will premiere on Hulu on April 14.
