Love Island fans find 'proof' of huge shake-up as they spot second fire pit in villa

Love Island fans have spotted ‘proof’ that there’s going to be a major shake-up in the show: a second fire pit.

The usual ITV2 dating show format sees the Islanders gather around the fire pit for big news brought in by Laura Whitmore, including the arrival of new bombshells or recouplings.

But with another fire pit in the frame, some viewers reckon the villa could be about to split in two even before it’s time to head to Casa Amor, or else a huge change that could see a rivalry between two villa factions.

It comes after journalist Orlaith Condon announced the news from an ‘inside source’ on the My Pod On Paper podcast, explaining: “I teased something on the podcast last night about a source that I have, that knew secret information about the new villa.

“They revealed it to me because they know I’m a freak and I’m obsessed with the small details. It could mean nothing, but it could also tie into a theory.

“There is a second fire pit at the villa. I don’t believe they’ve shown it on camera, but there is a second fire pit in the villa and apparently Love Island producers were like, ‘It’s very hush hush’.

“When I heard this I [thought], are they going to do some kind of I’m A Celeb [scenario] with two camps, two platforms, teams?

“Because the fire pit is very much the ceremonial space. I would like to believe that they wouldn’t include a new fire pit that cost to build, and I also think if you’re keeping it under lock and key they’re not just doing it for a flurry of excitement about a fire pit.

“I am like, could this mean a second or a team scenario, or splitting the villa in half or two…? I think it could mean something exciting, I don’t know!”

Taking to Reddit to point out their own evidence, one eagle-eyed viewer said: “Okay so SPOILER potentially for the season if you hate any sort of spoilers!!

“The host of My Pod On Paper Orlaith has said on the most recent episode which I just listened to on my commute that she has an inside source who has said that there are two fire pits in the villa and one hasn’t been shown at all yet.”

They added: “Which suggests that they could be doing a big switcheroo/twist at some point.

“However, it could come to nothing, much like the Hideaway in Casa Amor last year LMAO.”

Another added: “One of the Islanders pointed at something off-screen and asked if it was the fire pit, but then they went to the one we saw!!”

As someone else echoed: “OMG you’re right!!”

Love Island airs weekdays at 9pm on ITV2.
