Love Island’s singles are being a bit “stingy” with kisses this year, according to the show’s podcast.
Smooches on the show – or rather, the relative lack of them – came up on the Morning After podcast as hosts Steff Todd and Tyler West mulled over the latest goings on in the villa.
Tyler, who was filling in for former Islander Kem Cetinay, said he thought the contestants were holding off when it came to locking lips.
“I feel like, everybody is being a bit stingy about the kisses this season,” he said.
“If you think about it, what if you get on a deeper level with someone and then you are like, 10 dates in, and then it gets seven days into the villa and then you find out they are a really rubbish kisser?”
Co-host Steff chimed in to say that Ekin-Su certainly wouldn’t have that problem.
“Because literally, blink and she’s already smacked the lips on Davide hasn’t she?” she laughed.
Discussing the pair’s smooch, Tyler said: “It was like, and the only way I can describe it is like when I’m sitting there of an evening and I’m eating banoffee pie and I’m licking the bowl clean, it was like that.
“It was like an absolute full on attack. I swear, it was something from a movie!”
“If they had slowed it down, put it in slow-mo, it would have been a really romantic scene in a movie,” he added.
Ekin-Su and Davide aside, some viewers have also suggested that it seems as if there is a little less action so far this series.
“Is it just me or are the kisses a lot more infrequent this season?” one tweeted.
“Love Island has been really slow starting this year, I hope it spices up a bit,” said another.
Love Island airs weekdays at 9pm on ITV2.
