This year’s Love Island star Tasha Ghouri enjoyed secret dates with former Strictly champion Giovanni Pernice earlier this year.
The 23-year-old met up with the professional dancer one month after he won the show with deaf actress Rose Ayling-Ellis.
Tasha and Giovanni first connected on Instagram before messaging one another privately on the app.
After a few exchanges, the duo eventually met up in January where the 31-year-old wined and dined the Islander, who is also a fellow dancer.
However, despite Giovanni being “persistent” with Tasha, their quick fling fizzled out due to him taking part in the Strictly tour.
A source close to Tasha told the DailyMail that Giovanni was persistent when it came to the Love Island star.
They said: “They have a lot in common, both being dancers, and he had just learned a lot about the deaf community performing with Rose on Strictly, who Tasha really admires.”
The Love Islander was impressed with how gentlemanly the Strictly star was as he took her to top London restaurants.
Giovanni would also offer to send cars to collect Tasha, however, she always decided to make her own way to see him as she’s independent.
The source continued: “Their romance didn’t progress because Giovanni was travelling a lot with the Strictly tour and Tasha was already involved with someone else.”
MailOnline has contacted Love Island and Giovanni’s representatives for comment.
This isn’t the only celebrity that Tasha has been with in the past either as the dancer also dated Netflix’s Too Hot To Handle contestant Robert Van Tromp three months before going into the villa.
Although with Robert spending time away in America, the duo decided to see other people.
Tasha almost revealed to her fellow islanders that she was once with Giovanni after Italian bombshell Davide Sanclimenti entered the villa.
She said: “I’ve dated Italian before and it’s not for me.”
She may not have been wowed by Giovanni, but she highly praised his former celebrity dance partner Rose ahead of entering the villa.
Tasha called the champion a “role model” as she was the first deaf contestant to ever appear on the BBC dance show.
She said: “I love Strictly as well because I’m a dancer and what she did was so beautiful and sent a powerful message. She is also representing me as well as the deaf community and herself.
“We do follow each other on Instagram but we haven’t actually properly spoken, but hopefully after the show it would be amazing to meet up with her and share our experiences and stories because she seems like such an amazing person.”
