Meghan Markle and Harry 'used Lilibet to pull at Queen's heartstrings', says ex-pal

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s visit to the UK after being away for two years will have played on the Queen’s heartstrings, says Lizzie Cundy.

The television presenter struck up a friendship with the former actress when she was an unknown actress on the US legal drama, Suits.

Since meeting Prince Harry, Meghan has reportedly cut all contact with her British celeb pals including Lizzie and Piers Morgan.

Now, the WAG has shared her thoughts on their trip to the visit the Queen, 96, with their children Archie Harrison, three, and Lilibet, 11 months.

This marks the Royal Family’s first time meeting little Lilibet, who was named after the Queen.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star, Lizzie said: “I think they pulled on the Queen’s heartstrings.

“She hasn’t seen Lilibet, she wants to meet her great-granddaughter, it might be the last time she’ll get, so of course, the Queen will let them come.”

Lizzie previously disclosed that she believed Meghan and Harry were in the UK to take the spotlight away from the Queen during her Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The mum-of-two said: “This is all to do with taking the shine away from the Queen on her Platinum Jubilee, 70 years of service.

“Maybe they could take a leaf out of the Queen’s book and see how one should behave.

“They decided not to be royals, they didn’t want to be working royals, they didn’t want to do the royal duties so they should have the decency I feel to stay away.”

Lizzie continued: “They should let the Queen have her day and let not take any of the attention they know the attention will be on them, she knows exactly what she’s doing.

“I do think they will take the shine of the Queen, I really pray they don’t.

“The royals are very aware of what they’re about but I don’t think they’ll be stopped.”

Despite coming to the UK to celebrate, the Sussexes faced the ultimate snub as they were banished from the Buckingham Palace balcony during Trooping The Colour.

They were also sat away from the Queen during the ceremony at Horseguards, sitting in the Major General’s office with Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Zara Tindall, Mia Tindall, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Louis, Prince George and Princess Charlotte,
