Mike Tindall shares touching tribute to late Queen as Zara rushes to Balmoral

Former rugby player Mike Tindall has shared a touching tribute dedicated to the Queen while his wife Zara, who is the Queen’s granddaughter made her way to Balmoral to be beside the Royal Family.

The 43 year old took to his social media platform to repost a photo which was originally published by The Sydney Morning Herald.

The image included the Sydney Opera House, with the Queen’s image on it.

Taking to his Instagram story, Mike shared their same image and simply captioned it with a red love heart emoji.

Meanwhile on their post, the Australian newspaper wrote: “We are well-used to seeing the Sydney Opera House illuminated to mark significant events, but tonight’s image is above and beyond.

“The sails have been illuminated to pay respect to the late Queen Elizabeth II.”

Last year, while talking to the Telegraph, Mike praised the Queen for making him feel welcome in the family.

He said: “I can only say how kind they’ve been to me, and how welcoming they’ve been to me since joining the family. And how they’ve made my family welcome.

“I’ve always felt part of it and I think that’s down to what an amazing woman the Queen is. They’re a fantastic family.”

It is believed Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and Zara Tindall arrived at Balmoral to pay their respects to their late grandmother, Elizabeth II today (September 9).

On Thursday at 6:30pm, the Buckingham Palace announced the Queen had sadly passed away.

The statement read: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.

“The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”

Discussing her passing, her first son King Charles III said the death of his beloved mother was a “moment of great sadness” for him and his family and that her tragic loss would be “deeply felt” by those around world.

He said: “We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished sovereign and a much-loved mother.

“I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world.”

He also added that himself and his family would be “comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which the Queen was so widely held”.
