Piers Morgan says Meghan Markle is 'nothing like Diana' as he blasts Netflix show

Piers Morgan has claimed Meghan Markle has “nothing in common whatsoever” with the late Princess Diana.

The former Good Morning Britain host ripped into Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s explosive new six-part Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan, on his TalkTV show.

The first three episodes of the tell-all series landed on Netflix on Thursday (December 8) and has already caused a royal stir across the country.

Harry says in the show: “So much of what Meghan is and how she is, is so similar to my mum.”

“She has the same compassion,” he adds. “She has the same empathy. She has the same confidence. She has this warmth about her.”

Piers certainly took issue with the comparison as he shut down the claim on Thursday’s episode of Piers Morgan: Uncensored, where he accused the new Sussex documentary of “using” Diana to “stoke sympathy for Meghan.”

Piers said: “Having known both women, Princess Diana and Meghan Markle, I can say with absolute certainty that they’re nothing in common whatsoever. I couldn’t think of two women more different.”

Harry opens up about the “hate” that has been stirred up against Meghan and his family.

At the start of the first episode, he said: “But the nature of being born into this position, amid everything else that comes with it and the level of hate being stirred up in the last three years, especially against my wife and my son.”

He added: “I’m generally concerned for the safety of my family.”

“I just really want to get to the other side of all of this.”

The next three episodes, four, five and six, will drop on Netflix next Thursday (December 15).

Harry & Meghan is now available to stream on Netflix.
