Rebel Wilson repeats BAFTAs history with savage Pizza Express dig at Prince Andrew

Rebel Wilson couldn’t resist making a savage dig at Prince Andrew as she hosted the BAFTAs on Sunday night.

Hosting the glitzy awards ceremony at London’s Royal Albert Hall, Rebel looked incredible wearing a red gown and left fans stunned by her savage dig at the Queen’s son.

After Dune’s acceptance speech, Rebel took to the podium and said: “So I was gonna do a musical musical number as host, it was about Prince Andrew though.

“Um, no guys, it’s no, it’s not what you think [sic].

“It was on roller skates, it’s called Pizza Express.

“But don’t worry, I’m not gonna do it, I’m not gonna sing. I’m saving my voice for the sequel to Cats.”

Viewers at home weren’t impressed by Rebel’s royal joke

Rebel has made a sly jibe at Prince Andrew before, back in 2020 in fact – which means tonight saw the blonde bombshell repeat BAFTA history.

Accepting her gong at the BAFTAs in 2020 she said: “Good evening distinguished guests and those who don’t identify as that. It is really great to be here at the Royal Andrew… Royal Harry… Royal Phillip… this royal palace place.

“I was just told backstage that no one’s getting a massive gift bag tonight, yep, instead you’re all getting a gifting wallet which is funny because that’s also the nickname of my vagina.

Rebel’s joke focused on Pizza Express, Prince Andrew and Cats: The Movie

“So maybe it is me who will win best original score at the after party tonight.”

Her Prince Andrew jibe wasn’t the only royal dig tonight though, because straight after her Pizza Express comment, she went on to say: “Our next package is for Outstanding British Film.

“From drama, to horror, to fantasy, Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah had it all.

“Unfortunately that’s not nominated in this category.”

Viewers watching the annual ceremony were quick to take to Twitter to comment on the risky royal jokes, with one writing: “Oof edgy Prince Andrew joke there from Rebel Wilson. #BAFTA2022.”

Another wasn’t too pleased with the jibe and penned: “NOOOOOOOOOOO NOT PRINCE ANDREW JOKES BAFTA FFS. Didn’t think the ‘comedy’ could be any worse.”

Someone else wasn’t happy either and added: “@BAFTA was it really necessary to raise the issue with Prince Andrew? Very distasteful in my opinion….”
