Red Hot Chili Peppers’ star Flea has become a dad for the third time as he welcomes a child with wife Melody Ehsani.
The 60-year-old Australian-American musician and actor, real name Michael Peter Balzary, confirmed that he and Melody welcomed their first child together on December 12.
Flea confirmed the birth of his third child to E! News on Thursday night while on the red carpet for a Babylon event in Los Angeles.

The event was for the new film starring Flea himself alongside Hollywood icons Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie.
While enjoying some time away from daddy duties, Flea explained that he was “very happy” to be a dad again.
He added: “I haven’t been doing a lot of sleeping, but I’ve been doing a lot of floating on a cloud of love.”
And just last week ahead of the new arrival, People magazine quoted him: “I love being a dad, and I can’t even believe that I’m about to have another baby.”
Continuing: “I’m just excited about laying down at night with a little baby on my chest and smelling its little breath and feeling its soft little feet.”
Flea’s newborn, with his wife of three years Melody, is his third child.
The bassist also shares his eldest daughter Clara, 34, with ex-wife Loesha Zeviar, and youngest, 17-year-old daughter Sunny Bebop with model ex-fiancée Frankie Rayder.
Flea attended the premiere of Babylon because he portrays Bob Levine in Damien Chazelle’s star-studded 1920s Hollywood-set drama.
The movie in question is due to hit US cinemas on December 23, and UK cinemas a month later on January 20.
Fashion designer Melody and her rocker beau tied the knot in 2019 and revealed the pregnancy news in July 2022 on social media.
