Rylan Clark reveals Ruth and Eamonn were 'frightened' for him after public split

Rylan Clark has revealed his “telly mum and dad” Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes were “frightened and shocked” by his mental state following his public marriage breakdown.

The TV presenter, 33, split with his estranged husband back in June 2021 reportedly after the pair came to a disagreement over having children and Dan Neal’s ambitions to expand his TV career.

Now, nearly one year on from his separation, the former X Factor star has confessed how the TV couple supported him during the dark time in his life.

He explained how he almost lost control last summer as he struggled to come to terms with their split especially after he moved out of their home.

“My mum and sister-in-law were acting really weird and I didn’t know why. Next thin, Eamonn and Ruth turned up and I just broke down.”

As they attempted to comfort the star, Rylan explained how the duo seemed “frightened and shocked” by the mental state they found him in as he revealed how he still gets emotional reflecting on the incident.

The pair went their separate ways after more than six years of marriage as he revealed at the time how it severely affected his mental health as he attempted to rebuild his life.

While he explained how he still needs to learn how to trust another person again, the TV personality hopes to meet someone who support him moving forward.

He added: “I want nothing more than to be with someone who supports me and I support them and is proud of me and. is happy for me and vice versa. That’s all i want but I’m in no rush. It has to be right.”

The presenter now insists he is happy in himself once again after spending a lot of time hiding away and avoiding work as he continues to work on “finding a new life”.

In his latest autobiography, he opened up about how tough the last 12 months has been on him emotionally and even jokes how he “should have only lasted ten minutes” in showbiz despite being a popular presenter on the silver screen.
