Strictly fans spot Kai Widdrington's 'twin' as pro 'appears on screen twice at same time'

Strictly Come Dancing fans spotted Kai Widdrington’s “twin” as the professional dancer seemingly appeared on screen “twice at same time” on Sunday night – but all wasn’t what it seemed.

Viewers were very confused on the night of the seventh dance-off when Luke Evans appeared on-stage to sing Bridge Over Troubled Water.

Singing a very powerful rendition, Nadiya Bychkova and her boyfriend Kai Widdrington appeared on-stage to dance along.

Taking to Twitter, many fans noted how it felt as though they were “seeing double” with some even dubbing the duo as “twins”.

“Luke Evans and Kai looked like twins out there #strictly,” penned one.

“Seeing double with Luke Evans and Kai…that wasn’t just me was it?” asked another.

A third then said: “Luke Evans singing on @bbcstrictly whilst Kai is dancing is trippy as hell.”

“Very clever Strictly, putting Luke Evans and Kai on the ‘same stage’… won’t fool us though, we all know they’re the same person,” joked a fourth.

While a fifth noted: “Luke Evans and Kai Widdrington, separated at birth.”

And a sixth added: “Luke Evans and Kai, never seen in same room? I did a double take.”

This came on the same show that saw Paralympian Ellie Simmonds and her professional dance partner Nikita Kuzmin booted off the show.

In the bottom two against singer and former Britain’s Got Talent star Molly Rainford, Ellie and Nikita failed to get saved by the judges which meant they didn’t make it to week eight.

Despite having to send one couple home, head judge Shirley Ballas affirmed that it was “one of the best dance offs” she has ever seen.

When asked by host Tess Daly about her time on the show, Paralympian Ellie said: “I’ve literally had the time of my life. It’s been the most incredible experience – life changing really.”
