Strictly Come Dancing recruit James Bye’s wife Victoria has showered her husband with praise after he struggled to hold back the tears during in his emotional exit.

Over the weekend star-studded cast on the BBC One dance competition donned their impressive costumes for the highly anticipated Halloween week.

But on Sunday night’s show, the EastEnders star, 38, found himself in the dreaded dance-off with X Factor legend Fleur East, 35.

After battling it out in the nerve-wracking final performance, the actor struggled to wow the judges as they unanimously decided to save Fleur and Vito Coppola.

The soap star was left in tears during him emotional exit as he praised his professional dance partner Amy Dowden in his final speech.

Now, his wife Victoria has congratulated the TV star on him impressive journey on the ballroom competition in a lengthy post online.

Alongside a sweet snap of herself sharing a loving embrace with her husband on the dancefloor, she wrote: “So… that was emotional. And there you go… the Strictly journey is finally over. And what a journey it was.

“With a final bow & heartfelt thank you to the audience, a hug full of gratitude to Amy and a smile full of emotion to me. He hung up his dancing shoes for the final time. And I truly couldn’t be prouder”.

The mum-of-three added: “The boys are overwhelmed… full of pride and smiles (and overjoyed to have their best buddy back in the gang).

“And I’m just amazed by what he’s done. To be able to learn to dance like that, whilst working full time and trying to parent the rabble is just madness”.

Despite the pressures of the BBC competition, the doting dad was still finding time to squeeze in family time with his three sons Edward, eight, Louis, six, and Hugo, three.

She continued: “He’s been a glittery, shimmying machine for over 2 months. And I’m not going to lie. We’re absolutely bloody shattered.

“But what he’s done and what he’s shown the boys it’s possible to do when you put your mind to it – is nothing short of incredible”.
