The Chase fans in stitches as Cambridge geography student gets town question wrong

The Chase fans slammed one young contestant who attended Cambridge University after she struggled through the one-to-one round against Jenny Ryan.

During Monday’s instalment of the popular ITV quiz show, TV host Bradley Walsh welcomed the latest bunch of contestants battling it out to bring home the cash prize.

Taking to the panel this afternoon was Pam, Steve Dino and 20-year-old student Anna, who managed to add £4,000 during her fast-paced cash builder.

But one question stumped the geography student as she rushed to answer as many questions as she could in one minute.

Before her she took on the Chaser, the budding student boasted how she was currently studying at the elite University of Cambridge where many of the great minds in England go to study.

Bradders welcomed her to the show, saying: “Welcome to the show Anna, what do you do for a living?”

The eager contestant confessed: “I’m a student at the moment [studying] geography.”

When the actor asked where she was studying she explained: “Oh, I’m studying at Cambridge” much to the surprise of the TV host.

He asked: “Like, Cambridge Cambridge, not outside Cambridge, Cambridge secondary modern union, that one?” to which she replied: “No, the big boy one, the old fashioned [one with] turrets, nearly a hundred years old.”

As the dad-of-two compared the prestigious school to Hogwarts, he went on to ask: “What house are you in? Not house – halls and residence – what place are you in?”

The telly host joked that she was attending the real-life version of “Hogwarts” on the show

The 20-year-old answered that she was currently being educated in the Jesus building before the telly host got back to the questions at hand.

During the speed round former Coronation Street star Bradley asked the brunette beauty: “What East Sussex town gives its name to an 11th century battle?”

As she panicked under the time pressure, she replied: “Crawley,” which the quiz master corrected to “Hastings”.

A third chimed in with: “Contestant was asked on #TheChase ‘Which East Sussex town lends its name to an 11th century battle?’ They answered Crawley” with two cry laughing emojis.

While another fan of the show defended: “At least Crawley is actually in Sussex.”
