This Morning fans were left fuming during the latest instalment of the ITV daytime soap as reality star Ryan Ruckledge opened up about his fox eye facelift surgery.
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield welcomed the former Big Brother housemate Ryan onto the famous blue sofa on Wednesday (June 8).
He told the TV duo all about going under the knife to have a “fox eye” lift, which involves inserting plastic threads at the side of the eyes, to stretch the skin and create a new look.
“I’ll be completely honest with you, someone contacted me and offered to do it for free if I promoted it, so I said yes,” Ryan said.
Holly, 41, admitted to “wincing” when she read about Ryan’s story and as images of Ryan post-surgery flashed up on the screen, he said: “Oh my God, imagine me trying to pull a fella looking like that. I look like an Avatar!”
Ryan went on to say that an infection kicked in two weeks after surgery and revealed puss was coming out as his “face swelled up”.
When Phillip asked if he felt supported by the clinic where he had the surgery, Ryan responded: “I don’t really wanna speak about the clinic.
“I don’t feel like I was supported in the after care, no.”
The interview appeared to rub up viewers the wrong way.
Taking to Twitter, one This Morning fan ranted: “Why not interview actual people about actual problems instead of this guy with his “fox-eye facelift” who has done the rounds on every reality show from Big Brother, X-Factor and Just Tattoo Of Us?”
Another added: “No wonder the NHS is under pressure.”
A third person posted: “So the NHS bailed him out !! It is about time they started to charge for rectifying these cosmetic surgery fails.”
While a fourth social media wrote:
However, others praised Ryan for being so open and admitting that he made a mistake.
One fan tweeted: “Think Ryan deserves credit for admitting it was a big mistake getting that procedure done.”
