Tipping Point viewers floored by 'weird' show change before player's awkward answer

Tipping Point has returned to the nation’s TV screens for the first time in 2022 and has come back by niggling fans at home, who are furious with the changing time of the programme.

The ITV show started at 4.40pm on Monday which differed from its usual 4pm timeslot, which frustrated many viewers at home.

Fans took to social media to share their thoughts on the matter, with one posting: “So tippingpoint has moved again.”

While a second added: “Really weird times for #Lingo #TippingPoint & #thechase today. Schedulers must be having a laugh!”

The ITV gameshow also tickled fans after one of the contestants called Debbie, a carer from North Wales, got a question rather wrong.

On Monday’s programme, host Ben Shephard welcomed his four new guests onto the trivia programme, as they prepared to battle it out against one another.

However, during the first segment of the show, Debbie was given the boot after getting the lowest scores all round and answering some of her questions wrong.

Ben asked: “The ’18’ symbol used by the British Board Of Film Censors consists of white writing on which primary colour background?”

Debbie quickly responded: “Black.”

However, presenter Ben then looked at her shocked and said: “Red.”

Viewers of the show then stormed to social media to make fun at Debbie’s expense who told Ben she had a “lovely day” meeting him.

One fan said: “Debbie is testing my resolve to “be kind” Black, a primary colour. #tippingpoint”

A second said: “I don’t think Debbie knows what a primary colour is. #TippingPoint”

While a third added: “Oh no Debbie… #TippingPoint”

A fourth wrote: “Bye Debbie – who had a lovely day #tippingpoint”

And a fifth put: “I don’t necessarily think Debbie was thick but I can understand how she might have given that impression. #TippingPoint”

This comes a day after Ben was left speechless during the latest throwback edition of Tipping Point: Lucky Stars.

After beating off stiff competition from his fellow competitors sports journalist Henry Blofled and Pussycat Dolls singer Melody Thornton, comedian Joe Lycett revealed he was wearing some “lucky pants”.

The comic went on to show the host his underwear, which features several pictures of Ben’s face.

Joe’s blue outlandish boxers were so fetching that the television personality kept his trousers down and showed them off throughout the show.

“These pants are worth their weight in gold,” Joe said as he sailed through to the final.

“I can’t stop staring at me”, said Good Morning Britain star Ben.

When asked how the pants made him feel, Ben replied: “Nervous” and added it was “disconcerting”.
