Sheffield’s biggest party certainly returned at Tramlines Festival with revellers flocking down to Hillsborough Park to enjoy three days of live music and entertainment.
Despite a few spells of rain, music lovers and those wanting a good time certainly didn’t let the weather get them down as the South Yorkshire city was packed with bucket hats, raincoats and ponchos.
While doors opened at midday on Friday, July 22, acts such as Shed Seven, Harri Larkin and Jade Bird took to the Sarah Nulty main stage to get fans warmed up.

But it was headline act Sam Fender who quickly whipped the packed crowd of 35,000 into a frenzy.
“Yes, Sheffield! How ya doin’, alreet?” he asked as he walked onto the stage before belting out his hit Will We Talk? as revellers instantly started singing along.
Famed for his rock anthems such as Howdon Aldi Death Queue and Seventeen Going Under, Sam quickly invited fans to start a mosh pit.
But the Geordie star quickly halted his set after noticing fans were getting too crowded at the front before asking everybody to take a step back to ensure everybody was safe – with the audience offering a loud applause.
Despite being on the music scene since 2013 and performing at festivals such as Glastonbury, it was Tramlines who offered Fender his first headline set of his career at this year’s event.
He certainly cemented his status as headline act worthy with pyrotechnics and fireworks illuminating the Sheffield skyline.
Local businesses appeared to enjoy the thousands of punters descending on Owlerton as fans flocked into nearby bars and eateries before and after the event.
While they may have faced uncertainty when former frontman Tom Meighan was axed, Kasabian proved they’re a force to be reckoned with after jumping onto the stage.
It may have been one of their first festival gigs since Tom’s exit in 2020 but Sergio Pizzorno made it look as though he’d only ever worked with Chris Edwards, Ian Matthews and Tim Carter.

The legendary rockstar bounced onto the stage screaming: “Sheffield, how the f**k are you?!” before performing their anthem Club Foot to an electric crowd.
While Shoot The Runner is perhaps one of their best songs, Sergio certainly made sure the crowd were prepared to go wild as he yelled: “Let’s get this place bouncing, this is f**king beautiful,” before launching into the track.
Ending their set, the Leicester rockers certainly fired up the audience as they belted out arguably their biggest hit, Fire.
My highlight certainly has to be watching Madness headline the event on Sunday, July 24, a band I’d never expected to see and I can happily say, they were awesome,
