Emmerdale fans are concerned for fan favourite Cain Dingle, after a gun shot rang out in a showdown between him and Al Chapman during tonight’s episode (October 31).
But who has shot who?
Cain Dingle recently discovered that Al was having an affair with sister Chas Dingle, leading Cain to confront Al with a shotgun in a tense barnyard showdown.

Al asked: “So what you found her phone?” to which Cain replied: “Or maybe she just gave it me?”
Chas’ brother then told Al: “You’re not going to be seeing her again,” after telling him it was over, before asking: “How long has it been going on?”
Al replied: “Long enough for me to know that I love her.”
Al and Chas’ affair has been continuing under the noses of their nearest and dearest for months, until the truth began to unravel in recent days.
Chas’ son Aaron discovered the affair, but despite Chas insisting that the fling was over, she made plans to leave Emmerdale with Al.
However, as Al turned to walk away in the barn, Cain told him: “Turn your back on me, this will be the last thing you do.”
After telling him that the shotgun was “just to get your attention,” Cain placed the gun on a hay bail, before the showdown broke out into a brawl between the pair.
Cain later reached for the gun, but was pulled back by Al, who then reached for the gun himself, before a shot rang out.
With the devastating fallout still to aired, fans flocked to social media to share their concerns for Cain Dingle, with one saying: “It can’t end there, who’s been shot???… Damn it Emmerdale, it best not be Cain…”
Another posted: “What a perfect way to end the 50th month! A good old fashioned Cain scrap and then to leave it on the cliffhanger it genuinely feels like although Al is leaving Cain could be a late death!”
While a third wrote: “Didn’t think Al would be the first to take Cain down in a fist fight but big question is who’s been shot or have they?”
However, after Paddy Kirk told wife Chas that he had a conversation with Cain, could Chas have rushed to find her brother and Al?
And could she have fired the gun?
Some have already speculated that Chas could have picked up the shotgun, with one saying: “So do we reckon that Al will get the upper hand of Cain and Chas kills Al, saving her brother and she’s the one who goes to prison?”
With Emmerdale bosses teasing that the anniversary month could see a character going to jail for life, fans will have to wait and see who fired the gun – and who may have died.
Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV
