US Rapper Tdott Woo 'shot dead two years after friend Pop Smoke's murder'

Rapper Tdott Woo was reportedly shot dead in the heart of Brooklyn on Tuesday afternoon, almost two years after his close friend Pop Smoke was allegedly murdered.

The Brooklyn artist was just 22-years-old when he was gunned down outside of his home in Canarsie at around 2.30pm, according to reports.

He was rushed to Brookdale University Hospital moments later but the rapper later died from his injuries.

And his label Million Dollar Music Records have led tributes for the late artist after they shared a touching post in his memory later that day.

In a lengthy social media post, the record label wrote: “It’s an honour to remain your friend until your last moments.

“Your memories will always stay with us no matter where we go & what we do. Sleep in peace.

“#LongLiveTdott [prayer hands emoji] Just know his legacy will always live, from his laugh to the dance everyone across the world does, some of us know him a friend, brother, cousin or just a fan but we all come together to tell you FLY HIGH [prayer hands emoji].”

According to the New York Daily News, the rapper – whose real name is Tajay Dobson – was killed just hours after he signed a record contract.

The company welcomed Tdott to the level via Instagram just hours before he was shot, saying: Love to welcome @tdottwoo to the label as an official artists of MDM – and the journey begins.”

Tdott was also a close friend of the fellow late-Brooklyn artist Pop Smoke, who was shot down in the centre of Los Angeles in February 2020.

But many will remember the star for inventing the viral dance move the Woo Walk which took off during the peak of the pandemic.

Since then, the rapper’s grandmother has shared how she has struggled to sleep following the death of her relative earlier this week.

She told the publication: “I couldn’t even get sleep last night. He was a good, good kid … He loved singing and dancing and all that. He had a passion for music.”

Video director JL Shot Tha took to Instagram to conform the rapper’s passing online.

He wrote: “The Woo-Walker. You were always a star and I made sure to tell you that every chance I had.

“You inspired so many people on a daily! The kids love you! My condolences go out to your family and FIVI as well.

“This S**t hurts my heart … Dance in heaven my brother. You’ll be with Pop now.”

It is understood that police are still investigating the shooting and told news outlets that a suspect fled the scene in a dark SUV.
