A Place in the Sun star Jonnie Irwin has updated fans on his home renovation project.

The 49-year-old presenter has been sharing posts online with fans after taking on the challenge following his incurable cancer diagnosis.

He has remains upbeat and hopes to inspire others to “make the most of ever day”.

Jonnie has documented his home renovation journey on the property he shares with wife Jessica and their three children.

The home has undergone a major makeover in recent months including a new, “hotel-feel” ensuite bathroom.

In February, Jonnie revealed the finished result after the couple decided to take a risk by knocking into a fitted wardrobe to extend the ensuite.

In the most recent update, Jonnie revealed his new cedar-clad soffit outside the sliding patio doors of his home.

Jonnie said he was “chuffed to bits” with the result.

Sharing it on Instagram, the Channel 4 star penned: “On a strict budget we could only use this material sparingly but I love the look of it.

“Everyone who visits our home will immediately be frogmarched to view and pay homage to the beautiful cedar soffit”

Jonnie’s updates have gained the attention of other property-obsessed fans thanks to sharing renovation tips and tricks with his 160,000 Instagram followers.

He was diagnosed with with lung cancer in 2020 and has been given months to live as the cancer has now spread to his brain.

The TV personality has been married to Jessica since 2016.

The couple made the decision not to tell their sons about his battle with the disease because: “Why break their hearts when they’re having such fun?”

When asked if his children understand what he is going through, Jonnie told the Daily Mail: “Not yet. When I’m more frail or in bed for days we might.

“If you have 20 days left, why spend them in mourning and confusion? Why not just have 15 days of pure, blissful ignorance and five days of knowing the facts?

Jonnie, who has also starred on Escape to the Country, previously revealed he wants Jess to find happiness after he is gone and hopes she finds “a good bloke” to look after her and their boys.
