This Morning host Alison Hammond has confessed she nearly “had a heart attack” after she was pranked on Saturday Night Takeaway.
During their first show of the year, presenters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly pranked Alison by scaring her with the threat of ghosts and paranormal activity at a ‘haunted’ hotel.
Speaking about the experience, Alison told co-host Dermot O’Leary and a pair of special guest ghostbusters that she “almost had a heart attack” during her scary visit.

“That was the most frightening thing,” she said as Dermot asked her about the scariest moments. “I thought I was going to have a heart attack.”
“I thought I was going to die,” Alison dramatically added before explaining: “It slowly registered to me that it was Ant and Dec and I just couldn’t believe it, I was kind of relieved as well because it meant that I didn’t have to stay in that hotel.”
“I’ve done a celebrity haunted mansion, they did a ouija board and I did not like it,” she confessed later in the show while chatting to two ghostbusters who offered her and the This Morning team an in-depth ghost hunting experience.
“I’m open to [exploring the spirit world] but I was really frightened doing Saturday Night Takeaway and nearly had a heart attack,” Alison revealed.
The Geordie duo had fumbled with the lights and exposed Alison to scary reflections as she was forced to spend a night in the terrifying hotel while seemingly on a work trip.
Alison almost walked out of the hotel, refusing to stay and therefore ruining the prank, but luckily attempted to spend a night before she was left screaming at the paranormal activity in her hotel room.
Ant and Dec later revealed themselves, telling Alison it was all a big prank for their new show.
