Ant McPartlin has shared the moment he “almost didn’t show up” for rehearsals for Saturday Night Takeaway.
The Geordie duo, Ant and his co-host Dec Donnelly, took viewers behind the scenes in their one-off documentary which shows how their Saturday night TV show works behind the scenes.
In the first few clips, Ant and Dec have to practise stunts for their Ant vs Dec segment, which has previously seen them submerged in ice baths and walking on a plank off the top of a skyscraper.

On the night, the boys are as enthusiastic as ever, but Ant revealed that he almost gave up on the show altogether.
“I wasn’t sure if I was going to have the energy for today,” he told cameras. “But then you seen the cameras and you’re like, ‘Yeah let’s do this!”
Elsewhere in the show, viewers were shown what happens minutes before the boys go live on stage for the ITV show.
Audiences are told to laugh whenever possible at Ant and Dec’s jokes, with a member of the crew encouraging them, saying: “if they say something funny, for the love of god, laugh.”
Fans online were enjoying the exclusive behind the scenes look at the show.
