BBC Breakfast star Sally Nugent demanded Jon Kay to “stop speaking”, leaving him “terrified” on Tuesday (May 30).

The duo teamed up to front the second instalment of the week, presenting viewers with the top headlines of the day.

Having a look at what made it into Tuesday’s newspapers, Jon explained that The Guardian left a “glowing review” for the fourth and final season of HBO’s Succession which came to its conclusion on Monday (May 29).

“I’ve seen it!” exclaimed Jon before his co-star clarified: “Yeah, I haven’t!”

Continuing, Jon said: “The final episode of Succession which started streaming yesterday. I was up at this time yesterday watching it.”

“Stop speaking. Stop saying words!” demanded Sally as she tried desperately to avoid receiving any spoilers.

“When are you going to watch it?” asked Jon as she replied: “Today, obviously! Or else.”

“Okay, you better. We can talk about it tomorrow,” insisted the presenter.

As the screen cut back to the duo, Jon whispered: “In the meantime I am terrified of saying anything to you, ever!”

It comes after reports emerged that Sally, 51, had split with her husband Gavin Hawthorn after 13 years of marriage.

According to MailOnline, the BBC star was left “devastated” over her breakup with the businessman.

A source told the publication: “It’s very sad but they are no longer together.

“I think they tried to tough it out for quite a while as they didn’t want to split up if they could possibly help it for the sake of their son but they clearly couldn’t make a go of it.

“They’ve both been very guarded about the reasons behind their growing apart but it’s been plain for a while that they had been and now it’s obvious that they haven’t been able to resolve that despite clearly trying for some time.”

The former couple share a teenage son together and lived in a gated £1.48million house in the upmarket suburb of Hale, Greater Manchester.
