BBC Breakfast’s Sally Nugent makes ‘tense’ confession as she shares Strictly fears

BBC Breakfast star Sally Nugent claimed she dances like a “tense newsreader” in training for Strictly Come Dancing.

The presenter, 52, is one of the celebrities taking part in the 2023 Christmas Special of the BBC competition and will take to the dancefloor alongside Graziano Di Prima. Conversation soon turned to Sally’s upcoming Strictly stint during Monday’s instalment (November 27) of BBC Breakfast as Jon Kay announced what viewers can expect from the BBC during the festive period.

Jon, 54, explained to fans that Sally will be competing in the Christmas Special but she insisted: “Not competing, just taking part.” When asked how training was going, the host confessed: “It’s hard! I’m really not a dancer so to learn a dance in quite a short space of time is tough.”

Jon quickly shut down Sally’s claims as he revealed he’d already seen a clip of her dancing, insisting: “You look great!” “No,” Sally replied. “I’m not very good. I look like a very tense newsreader and that’s fine because that is what I am.”

She added: “I’m just going to enjoy it and do my best and try very hard not fall over.” Jon touched upon Sally’s competition on the show which includes broadcaster Dan Snow, who is partnered with Nadiya Bychkova.
