BBC Strictly Come Dancing’s Adam Thomas jokes about ‘Strictly curse’ with Luba Mushtuk

Strictly Come Dancing star Adam Thomas jokingly put his “amazing connection” with dance partner Luba Mushtuck down to the infamous “Strictly curse”.

The star was appearing on show spin-off It Takes Two with Luba as host Fleur East began discussing their “amazing chemistry” on the show. Luba said of their last dance: “It was so focused on our connection, it was beautiful.”

Fleur then followed up by adding: “Anton and Craig actually loved the connection between you two, why has the worked so well?” Adam, who is married with a child, then replied: “It’s the strictly Curse it’s really connected us” as they all burst into hysterics.

“If anyone was going to say that it was going to be Adam!” penned a third, as another warned: “Headlines tomorrow @adamthomas21 headlines tomorrow!” Of course, Adam is all loved up with his wife Caroline. They met back in 2007 and tied the knot in 2017, and now look after their son Teddy and daughter Elsie. It appears Luba is currently single.

Sunday night’s results show (November 5) saw Adam become the sixth contestant sent home from the BBC competition following the previous evening’s episode, which saw the judges dole out harsher scores as the series reached its midway mark.

The Waterloo Road and former Emmerdale star, 35, left the series after a surprise dance off with the 2023 series’ third highest-marked celebrity to date, presenter Angela Rippon.

All four judges opted to save 79-year-old Rippon, the show’s oldest ever contestant, with Anton Du Beke calling the head-to-head “the closest dance off we’ve had in the series so far”.

Speaking about his exit, Thomas praised his “seven incredible weeks” on the show, saying: “What a journey it’s been. I honestly thought I was leaving in week two and the fact that I’ve got this far I’m so proud of myself.

“I’ve had an amazing time from start to finish. I came here to learn how to dance and I’ve learned so much more about myself. The confidence and self-belief I now have in myself, it’s out of this world I have to thank all these guys up here. What a bunch to be on this journey with. I’m just very, very lucky!”
