‘BBC Strictly should bring sexy glamour models on show to spice up boring line-up’

Big Brother icon Nicola McLean slammed the Strictly Come Dancing lineup and says it needs spicing up with some glamour models.

The Page 3 star said she loved Zara McDermott and Bobby Brazier on the lineup but said it usually appeals to an older audience. Nicola explained how the show likes to stick with BBC talent.

She pointed out even the fresher faces on the show such as Zara McDermott and Bobby Brazier have links to the broadcaster. She explained how Zara has produced documentaries for the BBC and Bobby now stars on EastEnders.

Nicola said: “I think Strictly is bland and doesn’t have the sort of celebrity that I like to watch. But they at least mixed it up with Zara McDermott, who I liked to watch, but that didn’t seem to work well as she got kicked out very quickly.

“I only started watching it because I follow her on Instagram and I really like her. I also really like Bobby Brazier, I think he’s a really sweet boy and I hope he goes on to win now.

“I think it would be fun to get some glamour on there, it would get them more headlines with glamour models on there it would be great to see Katie Price on there. That would be brilliant.”

This comes after Celebrity Big Brother star Nicola slammed Brian Dowling for how he treated her on the show in 2011. Nicola claimed the Big Brother eye is usually closed during post-show interviews with the housemates – however, she said Brian decided to leave it open so she could hear the booing crowd.

The star explained: “The hosts usually always shut it so you can chat and interview properly, that’s what the viewers want to see. They don’t want to hear deafening boos.

“They want to hear what the housemates have to say. But Brian obviously didn’t like me, so he left the doors open the whole time. So it was just boos the whole time. I was shocked. Again, if it was now the production would have said shut up and would have closed it. Normally, they shut like you know, shut the eye or whatever. It just wasn’t done. And I know Emma Willis wouldn’t have stood for that.”

Big Brother airs Sunday to Thursday on ITV2 and ITVX at 9pm followed by Big Brother Late & Live at 10pm
