Following a standing ovation from the judges and the audience, hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly ran on stage to give MB14 the golden buzzer – meaning the musician went straight through to the show’s semi-finals.
However, fans of the programme took to social media to complain after they learnt about MB14’s past music success, with one saying: “Just googled him. He has been on The voice France as a runner up. Obviously scouted #bgt #BritainsGotTalent.”
“Another well known person auditioning for #bgt,” added a second.
“Sooo this golden buzzer MB14 was on the voice and came second #BGT,” commented a third.
A fourth pointed out: “Just an ordinary lad with 95m views on YouTube #BGT.”
MB14 previously appeared on The Voice France in 2016 and went on to win second place, before landing a record deal with Polydor.
He later parted ways with the record company, but returned to TV screens after competing in an all stars version of The Voice France.
The musician also has 35,000 monthly listeners on Spotify and previously was part of the beatboxing group, Berywam.
MB14 is not the only star with a successful past to have been given the golden buzzer on Britain’s Got Talent however.
In 2021, magician Keiichi Iwasaki impressed the judges with an act that saw him levitate a ring off former judge Alesha Dixon’s finger.
However, it was later revealed that he had auditioned for talent shows in other countries previously – including Italy in 2016, Bulgaria in 2021 and Spain in 2019 where he made it to the semi-finals.
Britain’s Got Talent airs on ITV1 and ITVX
