Blue singer Lee Ryan has been “assaulted” on a flight.
The band took to Twitter to release a statement on the matter.
It read: “While on a flight from Georgia to Istanbul, Turkey with Turkish Airlines today (Saturday 8 July 2023), Lee was psychically assaulted by a male passenger.
“Lee and the rest of the band defended him from the attack, which continued after the plane had landed when the passenger pushed Lee down a flight of stairs causing an injury to his leg.
“Both parties were spoken to by police in Turkey and to which Lee voluntarily gave a victim statement supported by the band.”

The statement continued: “Lee was not at any point arrested, detained, or charged with any offence and after giving his statement, was free to continue his journey.
“The assault had occurred after Lee put his feet on the seat which is seen as culturally insensitive and for which Lee has apologised for any unknowing offence caused.”

The note was signed off with “Blue”.
Fans of theirs jumped to the comment section to support them.
One wrote: “Thank God his brothers were there with him and defended him. My heart utterly breaks from reading this statement. Hope Lee’s ok now and gets well soon. Sending him all my love.”
A second added: “So sorry to read this I’m glad Lee is doing ok and supportived by the rest of the band take care all of you stay safe whoever did this needs to be accounted for so wrong x”

Though this isn’t Lee’s only airline fiasco, as he was found guilty of racially aggravated assault by Ealing Magistrates’ Court.
However, Lee denies being racist as he said his “bandmate is black” in court.
He was arrested in July 2022 following an incident onboard a British Airways flight from Glasgow to London City Airport.
The case involved two female flight attendants, who he made drunken advances to, after necking a bottle of port.
He told a black flight attendant “I want your chocolate children” and called her a “chocolate cookie”.
