Cat Deeley has been confirmed as a new presenter on This Morning.
ITV bosses have been scrambling to find a permanent replacement for Holly Willoughby, who stepped down from the show last month after an alleged plot to kidnap and murder her was exposed. Cat, 47, will reportedly host alongside Rylan Clark for one week starting on Monday, November 13.
A source told The Sun: “Cat is seasoned pro and execs have been keen to get her in for a while. She takes live TV in her stride and his really witty and personable with guests.

“She is comfortable interviewing both popstars and politicians, so if it goes well she could be a much more permanent solution to Holly leaving. The insider went on: “Cat would be safe captain to steady the ship.
“Rylan was a resounding success too so fans can expect to see a lot more of him in the future.” Bosses are also keen to sign up Cat’s husband Patrick Kielty to present alongside her, however, the 52-year-old currently has other work commitments in Northern Ireland.
This Morning was thrown into chaos last month after Holly announced her departure, just months after her co-host of 14 years Phillip Schofield was axed for having an affair with a young male colleague at ITV. Sharing a lengthy statement online, Holly wrote: “I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning. To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so, so much.

She thanked ITV for their support, adding: “Most of all, thank you to the wonderful viewers. You’ve been so loyal, so supportive and the very best company every day. She concluded: “Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family. I will miss you all so much, Holly.”
A number of stars have been tipped to permanently replace Holly, including Christine Lampard who is reportedly a front-runner. The 44-year-old has worked on ITV shows such as Lorraine, Daybreak, and Loose Women, making her a well-favoured addition to the This Morning team.
The Irish star previously covered Holly when she headed on maternity leave and has also co-hosted BBC’s The One Show. A source told The Sun: “Christine is popular with viewers and was a huge success when she covered Holly’s maternity leave. The source added that Christine is “very well liked” by executives and is a “pro” when it comes to interviewing.
