Chloe Madeley backs mum Judy as she blasts Holly Willoughby’s ‘dangerous’ wellness brand

Chloe Madeley has backed her mum Judy Finnigan after she slammed Holly Willoughby’s Wylde Moon and called the wellness industry “a con”.

This Morning host Holly launched what she calls her “lifestyle and guidance brand” in 2021 and it has been compared to Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop website as both sell holistic products including crystals.

As we reported earlier this week, Judy – who used to host This Morning with husband Richard Madeley – said: “The idea that it’s no longer enough to be healthy and we have to be ‘well’ – it’s really dangerous.

“I’ve been waiting for someone to have a go, not just at Goop but the other ‘wellness’ websites such as Holly’s Wylde Moon.”

Telly star and personal trainer Chloe says: “I love how outspoken my mum is these days. I’m fully qualified as a PT and nutritionist and you’re taught health and fitness, including mental health.

“I don’t know where the term ‘wellness’ came from.

“I do see mum’s point that it seems to be used for female marketing and I’m not sure why buying a product makes it a ‘wellness’ product.”

The 36-year-old, who starred in Dancing On Ice, has trained more than 7,000 clients in the last year.

Chloe says: “I have no judgement on people using crystals and tarot cards but I’ve helped people struggling with emotional eating, fear of gym space and early menopause.

“My involvement with real women is about fitness and I don’t want to be a hater, so if women feel happy and healthy I’ll take that.”

In a new survey healthcare charity Nuffield Health learned 45% of women find gyms intimidating and one in four teenage girls admitted they feel embarrassed to take part in physical activity during their menstrual cycle.

It’s now launching Move Together – free fitness classes for 11 to 16-year-olds nationwide.

Chloe says: “Boys are encouraged in a gym space and girls face crap PE choices. When I was at school, it was things like netball, but exercise is more than team sport.”

Lifting weights helps Chloe control her anxiety. She adds: “I hated exercise until I found weightlifting. I didn’t like team sports as I found it too competitive so I’m passionate about encouraging girls into exercise they enjoy.”

Last August, Chloe and her husband, former England rugby union player James Haskell, 38, welcomed their daughter Bodhi.

He’s now building a career as a DJ, while she supports postpartum women with their fitness.

Chloe says: “We have just come back from Ibiza where James has been DJing. It was Bodhi’s second time and she’s such a confident, content baby.

“I’m really proud of how James is transitioning from pro sport to something as niche as a serious house DJ.

“He’s made about 20 of his own tracks and it’s so good after rugby to find something he loves as much – or even more.”

This autumn we’ll see how the couple are juggling their transformed lives in Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair, their reality show which will include Chloe’s parents Judy and her Good Morning Britain dad host Richard.

Chloe says: “James is a f***ing fantastic dad. If my parents had their way, we’d have another baby every year.

“I’d like one more but I’m waiting to see how I feel when Bodhi is two.” Nuffield Health has launched Move Together, free fitness classes for 11 to 16-year-old girls.

This comes after it revealed the impact of period stigma on teenage girls in the UK, as 84% say interest in physical activity diminished after starting their period.
