Chris Pine finally addresses Harry Styles 'spitting' on him after viral video

Hollywood star Chris Pine has finally given his response to the alleged “spitgate” incident at the Don’t You Worry Darling premier six months ago.

He has set the record straight once and for all on the rumours pop star Harry Styles spit on him at the 2022 Venice Film Festival.

Chris said in a new Esquire video: “”Harry did not spit on me. Harry’s a very, very kind guy.”

He explained that his publicist woke him up whilst he was on a flight back from Venice asleep on the plane when his publicist woke him up.

He said: ” She wakes me up, in a, you know, in a state. She says, “We have to craft a message about what happened in Venice.”

“And I’m like “About what?” “About Harry spitting on you.”

“Which I have no idea what happened. She showed me the thing.

“It does look, indeed, like Harry spitting on me. He didn’t spit on me.’

The controversy arose last year when a video emerged of Harry Styles appearing to spit into his Chris’s lap as he took a seat next to him at the Venice Film Festival.

The Former One Direction singer, who appears alongside Chris in the film Don’t Worry Darling, caused an uproar amongst social media users after some seemed to think that he deliberately slobbered over the actor in front his girlfriend, Olivia Wilde.

While 42 year old Chris clapped for Harry as he took his seat next to him, the American actor appeared to stop himself in his tracks as the alleged “spit” took place.

Chris then takes an amusing look back at Harry, 28, who is busy adjusting his jacket and smiling to those around the room.

Fans were convinced that the incident took place however Chris has now said that Harry did not spit on him.
