Christine McGuinness left feeling ‘suicidal’ as she struggles to cope with ADHD

Christine McGuinness has been left “suicidal” due to her ADHD.

The model, 35, suffers from dark thoughts on days when she struggles with her mental health.

In a new interview, she said: “I will be extremely hyper-emotional if I’m sad.

“It can be the end of the world, to the point where I think, ‘I can’t cope, I can’t do this anymore’. Even having suicidal thoughts.”

Christine also has autism, but ADHD is her biggest problem.

She said: “When I’m having an ADHD day, I’ll notice more details, it will make me a bit more anxious, or more on edge.

“I feel everything a lot more than on my typical autism days.”

The mum-of-three – who split from TV star Paddy last year – wants to raise awareness of ADHD and its effects.

She added: “I’m an inattentive ADHD, which is different to the typical hyperactive ADHD person you might see more often.”

Christine has also opened up on how “exhausted” she is feeling as she took a swipe at her ex Paddy while speaking about how much extra she is doing for her kids.

As Helen Flanagan spoke about being a “tired, hungover mum doing her best in this crazy life”, Christine replied: “My three are already on school holidays, I’ve done more than ever with them on my own, it’s exhausting but the best thing in the world.

“What would us mummy’s do without our little crew.”

Her comment came as Paddy was seen enjoying a golfing session with Mark Wright while she took their three children bowling for the day.

The couple confirmed their split in August last year after 11 years of marriage.

They shared a joint statement at the time: “We hadn’t planned on sharing this publicly until we were ready but after the lack of privacy surrounding our life personal life, we feel left with no other option but to clarify.

“A while ago we took the difficult decision to separate but our main focus as always is to continue loving and supporting our children.

“This was not an easy decision to make but we are moving forward as the best parents we can be for our three beautiful children.

“We’ll always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship and still live happily in our family home together.”
