New host of Countdown Channel 4 Colin Murray has reportedly split from his wife Carly Paradis after ten years of marriage.
Colin, 45, was confirmed as the new permanent host of the Channel 4 show last month and is said to have called time on his marriage to his music composer wife due to careers driving them apart.
The couple, who married in 2012, have found their work commitments led to them being apart as Carly picked up work composing for BBC’s Line of Duty and performing alongside Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds for their European tour.
Colin, who has often been known for his work as a sports commentator and presenting on BBC Radio 5 Live, took on the role of hosting Countdown last year after Anne Robinson stepped down.

According to The Sun, sources shared that the pair actually split last year – just after Colin took up hist Countdown role.
The source said: “Colin and Carly have been open with their friends and family about their break-up and are trying to move on as best they can.”
In an interview last month, Colin alluded to the fact he was now single as when asked who controlled the television remote in his house, and he replied: “It’s just me, so me. I’m master of my domain.”
The couple married in 2012, living together in London thereafter. Despite separating, the pair are thought to be amicable with both still following each other on social media.
Last month Colin was confirmed as the permanent replacement on Countdown for Anne Robinson, after she exited the Channel 4 show last year.
After the news was announced Colin said: “It’s a career dream to be named as permanent anchor of one of television’s most iconic programmes.
“I have been a fan since day one, been part of the family for over a decade, appearing on Dictionary Corner, and now I get the honour of guiding it into a fifth decade. However, I don’t just want Countdown to survive, I want it to thrive.
“During my caretaker stint we’ve seen more people tune back in, with close to a million (900,000) watching the series final in December, and I want that to just be the beginning.
“Countdown is a special show, and its stars will always be the letters and the numbers, but it’s more than that.
“Great afternoon company for people of all ages from all across the UK.”
