One Dances With Wolves actor allegedly turned his five wives into an armed cult and trained them to shoot at the police in a horror incident, police documents have revealed.
Best known for his role as Sioux tribe member Smiles a Lot in the Oscar-winning Kevin Costner film, Nathan Chasing Horse was arrested this week.
According to police documents, he had warned his five wives to “shoot it out” with cops if they ever tried to “break their family apart”, The Associated Press reports.

He also reportedly warned them that if the cops ever got the upper hand, they were to take “suicide pills” to prevent being taken away.
SWAT officers were called to his property in North Las Vegas, and officers at the scene recovered evidence of abuse spanning 20 years – including video tapes of sexual assaults, 41lbs of marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms, and numerous firearms.
After finding fame in Hollywood, Chasing Horse is said to have become a ‘medicine man’, gaining fame with Native American tribes by performing controversial healing ceremonies.
Police, however, said he ritually abused that position of power and physically and sexually assaulted young Indigenous girls and women, including taking underage wives – and ultimately “leading a cult”.
The 46-year-old is set to be charged with “at least two counts” of sex trafficking and one count each of sexual assault of a child younger than 16, child abuse and sexual assault, court records obtained by AP revealed.
His cult, known as The Circle, were allegedly also encouraged to take “small white pills” dubbed “suicide pills” if Chasing Horse ever lost his life or was arrested.
Las Vegas police have identified “at least six” sexual assault victims – some as young as 14 when they claim they were abused by Chasing Horse.

One of his multiple wives was offered to him as a “gift” when she was only 15, according to police.
In a warrant issued for his arrest, detectives penned: “Nathan Chasing Horse used spiritual traditions and their belief system as a tool to sexually assault young girls on numerous occasions.”
Chasing Horse was already banished from one reservation in Montana, the Fort Peck Reservation, amid allegations of human trafficking – nearly a decade ago.
The former actor was arrested on Tuesday (January 31) and held in county jail without bail. He is due to appear in court this week.
