Dancing On Ice's Ashley Banjo teases 'dream celeb' for ITV show ahead of new series

Dancing On Ice judge Ashley Banjo has revealed the ‘dream celeb’ he wants to put on their skates and take part in the ITV show.

The hit skating series, which first debuted back in 2006, is back on our TV screens next week and will see another bunch of celebs take to the ice rink.

TV duo and pals Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby are back to present the fourteenth series.

There’ll be familiar faces too on the judging panel with skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean there to critique the latest contestants.

Joining them to judge the competition once again is Diversity dancer Ashley Banjo and former Strictly Come Dancing pro, Oti Mabuse.

The celebrity cast hoping to win the trophy and who will show off their ice-shaking skills include the likes of Love Island 2022 winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, EastEnders icon Patsy Palmer and TOWIE alum Joey Essex.

However, it seems that judge Ashley Banjo has one specific celeb that he wants the show bosses to sign up to appear on the show.

When asked if there’s a celebrity who has yet to take part in the show that he’d love to see on the ice, Ashley proclaimed: “Matt Hancock!”

Ashley, who first shot to fame as a member of the dance group Diversity, first joined Dancing On Ice in 2018.

And the 34-year-old has even admitted he’d be down to take part in the show because he “loves a challenge.”

“That’s very revealing of me because you’ve asked me ‘Would I take part?’ and all I heard was ‘Would you win it?’” He said.

“Yes, I would absolutely do it but the question is would I win it? I don’t know if I’d be good enough!”

The other celebs taking part in the latest series include John Fashanu, Nile Wilson, The Vivienne, Mollie Gallagher, Carley Stenson, Darren Harriott, Michelle Heaton and Siva Kaneswaran.

Dancing On Ice returns to ITV and ITVX at 6.30pm on January 15.
